What is so amazing about Parkdale Sherwood Lions Club Bingo is that it feels just so gosh darn cozy. As you walk in, it’s impossible not to immediately sense that it is one big family. The decoration is very plain, with a bit of the Lions Club logo and colours, making it look like you just stepped into an 80s video store for old-times-sake if you have been coming around since the beginning or as if there was just some leftover space to show that somebody already had been in here before.

The air quivers with competing voices and a steady undercurrent of excitement, occasionally punctuated by the soft little dings of bingo balls bouncing inside their cage. Laughter and jokes going around, made it a good place to feel comfortable in when you’re the newbie.

Structure

Bingo at the Parkdale Sherwood Lions Club is very organized. Everyone takes everything they do very seriously and people really care about getting this event to you. Participants sign in bingo cards and whatnot at registration desk first thing.

Mingling games to catch novices and professionals alike cover permutations of bingo, such as 75 balls and themed games. The rhythm is perfect; there are enough games on the docket to keep the action flowing without overloading and tracking, for that matter, the players.

Equipment and Facilities

The courts at Parkdale Sherwood Lions Club are well kept with some real estate to play on. The main hall also has long tables, suitable for big groups-thus it’s a good place to meet friends or bring your family.

The place is clean, equipment decent and the electronic bingo machines are very nice. They really do make the games a lot easier to play, which means because you can ‘daub’ (mark off) your tickets automatically, it reduces that major potential source of one losing a call.

There is also an appropriate number of restrooms and areas for one to move discretely on breaks. If you don’t mind buying your snacks and drinks, it’s the next best thing.

Community Impact

One of the most important things, if not the most important thing, that the Parkdale Sherwood Lions Club Bingo is what they give back to the community. Bingo proceeds support many of the club’s programs, charities and community service projects.
